Sotto i pavimenti dell’attuale Municipio, a una profondità di circa tre metri sono venuti alla luce i resti di un borgo medievale. Gli elementi ritrovati sono databili nel periodo compreso il 1100 e il 1860. Si tratta di reperti di vario tipo: materiali per la costruzione come argille, sabbie e sedimenti, ma anche resti di pasti, frammenti di ceramica a testimonianza della presenza di abitazioni cittadine. Di grande importanza il ritrovamento di un’antica spada a una mano e mezza.

Under the floor of the current town hall of Monfalcone, at a depth of about 3 meters, were discovered the remains of a medieval village. The finds that came to light date back to the period between 1100 and 1860. There are various types of finds: building materials such as clays, sands and sediments, materials such as bars, blades and metal nails, but also remains of meals and ceramic fragments which testify to the presence of houses.
