La chiesa fu costruita nella seconda metà del Seicento dai capomastri Martinuzzi, su disegno dell’architetto Giorgio Massari, in stile palladiano. La chiesa è di dimensioni molto ridotte, la pianta è a croce latina ma la sua particolarità è insita nel gioco architettonico interno in cui gli archi, i pilastri e le cornici danno l’illusione che sia un edificio di notevoli dimensioni.

The church was built in the second half of the seventeenth century by the master builders Martinuzzi and designed by the architect Giorgio Massari, in the Palladian style. The church is very small in size, the plan is a Latin cross, but its peculiarity is the inner architecture consisting in arches, pillars and frames which give the illusion that it is a building of considerable size.
