In un’area relativamente ristretta, attualmente divisa dalla SS 14, insistono ben quattro differenti monumenti, tutti legati ai sanguinosi eventi bellici che qui si susseguirono fino all’autunno del 1917. Il più notevole è il monumento eretto a ricordo della Brigata Toscana, composta dal 77° e 78° Reggimento di Fanteria e chiamata “lupi” dagli Austriaci sul campo di battaglia, con un nome che poi venne “ufficializzato” in un’epigrafe commemorativa scritta da  Gabriele D’Annunzio. L’inaugurazione ebbe luogo il 23 ottobre 1938 alla presenza di autorità civili e militari.

In a small area, currently divided by the SS 14, are located four different monuments, all connected to the bloody series of war events that took place here until the autumn of 1917. The most notable is the monument erected in memory of the Tuscan Brigade, which consisted of 77th and 78th Infantry Regiment and was called “Lupi” by the Austrians on the battlefield, with a name that was later “made official” in a commemorative epigraph written by Gabriele D’Annunzio. The inauguration took place on 23 October 1938 at the presence of civil and military authorities.
