La chiesa parrocchiale di San martino a Doberdò del Lago venne costruita nel 1925 al posto di un precedente edificio risalente alla metà del Settecento e gravemente danneggiato durante i bombardamenti della Grande Guerra. La chiesa è caratterizzata da una facciata a capanna in stile neoromanico con pietra locale a vista. Sopra il portale d’ingresso si trova una pentafora decorata, gli spazi interni sono abbelliti da mosaici raffiguranti la Beata Vergine e i Santi Ulderico e Martino, protettori del paese diverse opere di pittori e scultori locali . La chiesa è una delle tappe del Cammino di San Martino di Tours, che partendo dall’Ungheria giunge in Francia attraverso la Slovenia e l’Italia settentrionale.

San Martino church in Doberdò del Lago was built in 1925 in the place of a previous building dating back to the mid-eighteenth century and severely damaged by bombing during the Great War. The church is characterized by a neo-Romanesque gabled façade in exposed local stone. Above the entrance portal, there is a decorated pentafora, the interiors are decorated with mosaics depicting the Blessed Virgin and the Saints Ulderico and Martin, patrons of the country and several works by local painters and sculptors. The church is one of the staging posts on the Way of Saint Martin of Tours, which starts from Hungary and reaches France through Slovenia and northern Italy.
