La chiesa di San Proto risale al XVI secolo e fu edificata su un sito occupato in età romana da una necropoli, come testimoniato da elementi sacrali reimpiegati nella costruzione. Oggi conserva il sarcofago dei martiri canziani San Proto e San Crisogono. Nella chiesa si posso ancora visitare pavimenti musivi con motivi geometrici e mosaici policromi di rara bellezza.

San Proto church dates back to the 16th century but was built on a site wherein Roman times stood a necropolis and this is testified by sacral elements used for the construction. Today it preserves the sarcophagus of San Proto and San Crisogono, the Canziani martyrs. In the church, you can still visit mosaic floors with geometric patterns and polychrome mosaics of rare beauty.
