Dalle acque sotterranee del Carso emergono in superficie i laghi di Doberdò e Pietrarossa. Alimentati da un articolato sistema idrico, presentano la suggestiva particolarità di ‘scomparire e riapparire’ a seconda della variabilità delle precipitazioni. Situati in una riserva di 726 ettari situata fra le alture carsiche alle spalle di Monfalcone, offrono percorsi ricchi di sentieri escursionistici, due centri visite e punti di ristoro.

Doberdò and Pietrarossa Lakes are nourished by the underground waters of the Karst and they have the suggestive peculiarity of “disappearing and reappearing” depending on rainfall. The Lakes are located in a 726 hectares reserve in the karst hills behind Monfalcone with a lot of hiking trails, two visitors’ centers for guided tours and food and beverage facilities.
